Deadlock in Python

PythonConcurrency (Locks & Executors)Thread Locksintermediate

What this snippet does

If two threads acquire the same locks in opposite orders, they will block each other forever.

Expected output

Acquiring locks in different order causes deadlock

Why practise typing this

Typing concurrency (locks & executors) code builds muscle memory for the symbols and indentation Python uses most, which prose-based typing tests never cover. DevType measures your words per minute and accuracy on this snippet and tracks the individual characters you mistype, so later lessons can target them.
