TypeScript

Interfaces cannot define constructor signatures in TypeScript

TypeScriptType Aliases vs InterfacesConstructor Typesadvanced

What this snippet does

While the syntax compiles, interfaces with 'new' signatures cannot be implemented by classes directly; you must use type aliases for class typing.

Expected output

Compile Error: Type 'typeof (anonymous class)' is not assignable to type 'Ctor'.

Why practise typing this

Typing type aliases vs interfaces code builds muscle memory for the symbols and indentation TypeScript uses most, which prose-based typing tests never cover. DevType measures your words per minute and accuracy on this snippet and tracks the individual characters you mistype, so later lessons can target them.
